Bours & Associés was set up in the mid-1940s by Professor Edouard Bours, who taught tax law at the University of Liège. It quickly became the leading specialised firm with the Liège bar, which now allows it to draw on many years of experience in the field of business law.
In addition to tax law, the firm gradually extended its range to include companies law, commercial law, and finally administrative law, its reputation enabling it to engage the services of the best specialists in each discipline. For several years, it was an integral part of the Loeff Claeys Verbeke firm, where the three current partners acquired the professionalism and modern working methods typical of the great international firms.
In 2011, for the fifth consecutive year, Bours & Associés was nominated for the Belgian Legal Awards in the category "Best Law Firm in Wallonia".
Michel Delnoy is identified by Chambers & Partners in the « Environment » section under the reference « Other Notable Practitioners », with the following comment : « Peers view Michel Delnoy of Bours & Associés as ‘a strong authority on environmental issues’. He is an expert in urban planning and is particularly visible in the Walloon region » (http://www.chambersandpartners.com/Europe/person/498105/michel-delnoy).
Since 2010, Bours & Associés has had a close cooperative relationship with the legal firm Laurius located in Anvers (http://www.laurius.be/), which shares its working philosophy.
